Women’s Hockey in Boston
Did you know that there are a ton of opportunities for women in the Boston area to play hockey? Here’s a list of the leagues – and one team – I can find:
- Bay State Blues (over-50 team)
- Bay State Hockey (women’s league starting fall 2007)
- Cape Cod Women’s Hockey League
- Concord Women’s Summer Hockey League
- Hockey Connections (Fitchburg League)
- New England Women’s Hockey League
- South Shore Women’s Hockey League (Storm Women’s Hockey is part of SSWHL, and my team – Black Ice – is part of the Storm organization. Contacts for all the teams lives here.)
- Walpole Adult Women’s Hockey League (Sunday night league starting fall 2007)
C’mon! Try it – I know you want to. It’s loads of fun!

Wow, hockey. I’m more of an avid watcher than do-er. Go Canucks Go!

I was a watcher before, but a few years ago, tried playing and–can never stop! Ever. As a friend said, it’s like crack: totally addictive. I’m not a great skater or a great athlete by any means, but it is SO. FUN. Yay for women’s ice hockey!
