General Job Sites
- America's
Job Bank: To find library jobs, select Search by Occupation, then
Education and Training. Click on the file folder to Expand
Occupations. Then choose Librarians.
- CareerMosaic JOBS
Database: Library jobs can be found using the word librarian
in the Description field. Most jobs are in special libraries.
- CareerPath: Search major
newspaper classifieds by category and keyword. First choose "Find a
Job." For library jobs, select the category "Education" or "Misc" and
use either "MLS" or "librarian" as keywords.
- DejaNews
Jobs: To find library jobs, search on the word "library" or
"librarian." Most jobs seem to be in the computer industry or working for
outsourcing firms.
- The Monster Board: Choose
"Search Jobs." Choose the Job Category "Education, Training, and Library."
In the keyword box, enter either "MLS" or "librarian." You may limit
your search by geographical area. This site allows you to apply to each
job online, and offers general job hunting advice.
- Yahoo's Careers:
Search for jobs by location (by major city or by state).
